Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has held a special Maldives promotion event with over 100 Bollywood celebrities and influencers from India.
In a press statement issued today, MMPRC said that the event, titled 'Maldivian Night' was held at Mumbai's Four Seasons Hotel over the past weekend.
MMPRC said that this was an event organized strategically in partnership with India's biggest Travel Trade Exhibition OTM Mumbai aimed at strengthening India-Maldives relations.
Stars who attended 'Maldivian Night' include Farah Khan, Mouni Roy, Fardeen Khan, Vihaan Samat, Angad Bedi, Mandana Karimi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Shashank Sajwan, Richi Shah, Ruchi Soni, Shifa Merchant, Rahul Jagtiani, Monisha, Brinda Shah, Stefanie Timmins, Paresh and Salman Merchant.
MMPRC said that the total reach of the influencers who joined the event cross 200 million followers.
They further said that those who joined the event will visit Maldives in the future under promotional campaigns and work to promote Maldives.
MMPRC MD Ibrahim Shiuree, who attended the event, said that India is an important market for Maldives' tourism, and as such, this was a great opportunity to promote Maldives in India.
India is one of the main source markets for tourist arrivals in Maldives. Last year, over 130,000 tourists from India visited the Maldives.
This year, MMPRC aims to welcome 300,000 tourists from India.
