President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has held discussions with the Senior Citizens Association of Maldives on ways to enhance the functioning of Isravvehinge Naadhee and increase senior citizen participation in various programs.
The discussions took place during a meeting held at the President’s Office on Tuesday.
During the meeting, officials from the Association shared their concerns and challenges with the President. They expressed gratitude for the reopening of the Isravvehinge Naadhee and discussed ways to enhance its functioning and increase senior citizen participation in various programs.
The officials also highlighted the difficulties in securing office space for non-governmental organisations such as the Senior Citizens Association of Maldives.

The President outlined his vision to support NGOs by facilitating their work, emphasizing that the construction of an office complex for various organizations contributing to the Maldives' development was a key part of his manifesto. He noted that the project would proceed within the government’s budget and structured procedures.
The officials stressed the importance of increased efforts to build a more civilized society and expressed their willingness to share their experiences in areas that would benefit the country's future.
The President also updated them on the government's initiatives to strengthen the social fabric and promote a civilized society, assuring them that the government would address the issues raised during the meeting.
