Applications open for 200 rowhouses under development in Thinadhoo

The Housing Ministry on Sunday opened applications for 200 rowhouses being developed under a public housing scheme in Thinadhoo City.
The Thinadhoo Council had opened applications for the housing scheme back in January. However, the application process was shut down by the Housing Ministry in February, citing that applications were upon without obtaining necessary approvals.
Applications for the 200 rowhouses were reopened again by the Housing Ministry on Sunday morning.
According to the ministry, applications will remain open through the Hiyaavahi portal until 11:59 pm November 7.

Registered residents of Thinadhoo, as well as people aged above 18 who have been living continuously in Thinadhoo for the last 10 years are eligible to apply for housing under the scheme.
Meanwhile, people who have purchased or have signed an agreement to purchase a property of 600 square feet or larger, or have received housing under a housing project in another island are not eligible for rowhouses under this scheme.
