President addresses key development priorities with Kihaadhoo Island Council, WDC, and institutional heads

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the B. Kihaadhoo Island Council, the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), and heads of local institutions today to discuss the island’s most pressing development needs. The meeting was held at Kihaadhoo School.
During the discussions, Council members outlined several key concerns, including delays and interruptions in water and sewerage projects, the need to strengthen the island’s electricity network, relocation of the powerhouse away from residential areas, and the space constraints at the school.
They also highlighted the lack of a designated picnic island for residents, the need to revise the RTL ferry system route in Baa Atoll for greater convenience, and the requirement for a science laboratory at Kihaadhoo School. Additional issues raised included the provision of an ambulance for the health centre and addressing space constraints at the facility.
President Dr Muizzu assured the council that the Government would carefully consider their concerns and work towards practical solutions. He also shared updates on ongoing development projects, accompanied by Cabinet Ministers and senior officials from State-Owned Enterprises.
