President Abdulla Yameen has extended an invitation to President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain, to visit Maldives at his earliest convenience.
This came at a meeting between President Yameen and President Mamnoon Hussain yesterday, as part of President Yameen’s ongoing visit to Pakistan.
Discussions were held at the meeting regarding strengthening ties between the two countries.
President Mamnoon Hussain also met with the Maldivian delegation accompanying President Yameen on this state visit. At the meeting, the Pakistani President extended a hearty welcome to President Yameen and expressed hope that there would be more high level visits from the Maldives in the future.
He assured President Yameen of Pakistan’s close friendship and continued assistance to the Maldives.
President Yameen thanked his Pakistani counterpart for the excellent hospitality extended to him and his delegation. Both leaders also deliberated on enhancing trade and cultural exchanges, as well as expanding the scope of investment opportunities. Discussions were also held on supporting each other in the global arena.
