President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has underscored the importance of dynamic youth for the development of a ‎nation.
The President made this statement while speaking at the official function held at Dharubaaruge on Tuesday, to mark this year’s Republic Day. President Yameen described Maldivian youth as the fuel that drives ‎the country’s progress.‎
He ‎reiterated the Government commitment to ‎developing the various sectors of the nation and ensure the provision of ‎public services to its people.
The President stated that, in order to reap the benefits offered by a Republic, all citizens must be willing to contribute to the progress of the nation.
In his speech, President Yameen encouraged all Maldivians to possess the mentality and spirit to push the country to newer heights. Continuing on, the President asserted that despite political differences, the Maldivian people should refrain from any action that may undermine state interests.
Recognizing the hope and trust through which his Administration was elected, President Yameen further underlined that the entire state continues to work towards the progress of the nation.
Addressing the people, President Yameen highlighted the achievements of ‎his administration during the first year of its term, and emphasised its ‎efforts to fulfil the electoral pledges. In this regard, the President noted the ‎success of his Government’s initiatives for improving and stabilising the ‎Maldivian economy.‎
In his speech, President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom extended his congratulations and warm wishes to all the recipients of National Awards.
