Ramzee Aboobakr, the General Manager of STO have said that the price of staple food products, is still cheaper in Maldives than the countries in this region which produce them.
Ramzee said that, it should be noted that Maldives does not produce any of these products and yet is selling them cheaper than the countries which produces the food.
Ramzee noted that, both Sri Lanka and India produces vast number of agricultural products and yet, the price of these products in Maldives are cheaper than these two countries.
STO is trying to sell, staple food products, at the cheapest possible rates even within the atolls. STO has decided to increase the credit limit to small businesses within the atolls, in an effort to decrease the prices within the atolls.
