Former President and the opposition party leader Mohamed Nasheed said the death of Mohamed Ibthihal from Rakeedhoo is a very serious national issue.
Nasheed made his statement on a tweet he posted on Wednesday evening regarding the young boy who was found dead with very serious visible injuries، in Vaavu Atoll Rakeedhoo on Wednesday.
He said it is an alarming national issue that there was a window to commit the murder of the young boy، and the only way to assure the protection of the children and their rights is to strengthen the social security system.
While Nasheed made his statement، President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has assured to bring the guilty to justice and execute severe punishments on them. President Yameen has highly condemned the heinous act of negligence which lead to the death of an innocent child in Rakeedhoo.
