Govt. decides to allow Nasheed، Imran to take part in all-party talks

The Government has revisited its previous decision and will allow individuals serving prison sentences to participate in the all-party talks، said Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture Dr. Mohamed Shainee during a press conference held at the President’s Office today.
The decision of the Government would allow former president Mohamed Nasheed and Adhaalath’s leader Sheikh Imran Abdulla to take part in the party talks.
Dr Shainee noted that this administration would offer its full cooperation and was willing to provide every possible leniency in order to work towards national peace and harmony، and for the prosperity of the Maldivian people. He also expressed confidence that the administration initiated talks would pave the way for more opportunities in the social and economic development of the nation.
Dr Shainee further said that Government representatives have been meeting daily with the visiting delegates from the UN، to discuss how best to facilitate a successful all-party talks.
