Adhaalath Party President, Sheikh Imran Abdulla has said that the government will destroy all entrepreneurs who are against the government.
Sheikh Imran said that the government betrayed the very person who sacrificed the most to garner support for President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom during the Presidential Election. He said that when Gasim Ibrahim started criticizing the government for their constitutional breaches, the government is now trying to oppress him in every way possible.
Sheikh Imran said that this is a warning to all entrepreneurs and businesses that they will destroy them if they criticize the government. He said that they will make them as beggars.
He said that the government is reverting to the despotic and dictatorial ways of 1980s. “The oppression perpetrated against Gasim Ibrahim is a very wrong signal given to all entrepreneurs. That this that they will destroy all those who oppose them,” he said.
However, Sheikh Imran said that the people of Maldives will not give the government this opportunity.
He said that it is now obligatory to stand up against the oppression of the government. He said that if the people do not stand up against the government then there will be irrevocable damages to the nation by the current oppressive rule.
