Pres. conveys gratitude to Saudi King for exemplary services offered to pilgrims

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed profound gratitude Saudi Arabia’s King, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the government of Saudi Arabia for their exemplary hospitality and outstanding services extended to pilgrims visiting for Umrah and Hajj.
President, via a post on X in Arabia, described the Kingdom's generosity as a noble and ongoing act of devotion to Islam. He acknowledged that such unwavering commitment is difficult to fully express in words. Furthermore, he emphasized that the ongoing efforts to serve pilgrims reflect a profound dedication worthy of the highest commendation.
The President also offered heartfelt prayers for the generous people of Saudi Arabia, asking for continued blessings upon their noble role in the service of Islam. He prayed for the long life, good health, and well-being of the King and Crown Prince.
Furthermore, he also prayed to protect Saudi Arabia from those with ill intent, and for enduring peace, security, prosperity, and dignity for the nation and its people.
President and First Lady Sajidha Ahmed are presently in Saudi Arabia for Hajj at the invitation of the Saudi Arabian government.
Notably, Maldives was added to the Makkah Route Initiative this year, which means pilgrims were able to complete immigration procedures of both countries at the Velana International Airport before leaving for Saudi Arabia.
This eliminated waiting time at Jeddah airport and allowed pilgrims to go to their hotels with their luggage directly.
