Weekly presidential press briefings to continue as scheduled

The weekly press conferences held by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu will continue as usual, adhering to the established schedule and guidelines, Chief Spokesperson at the President’s Office Heena Waleed has confirmed.
The announcement, made via a post on social media, sought to clarify the procedure following the commencement of these regular engagements with the media on 1 March this year.
The schedule was formally outlined in this year's presidential address, which designated a weekly meeting with journalists to be held every Monday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The President also detailed specific circumstances that would necessitate a cancellation, including observed government holidays, official travel obligations, and changes due to other unforeseen schedule conflicts. Barring these exceptions, the press briefings are scheduled to proceed.
"The President will continue to exchange with journalists in the coming weeks in accordance with this rule," Heena said.
To date, President Muizzu has held three such press briefings. These sessions serve as a platform for the President to directly address questions from the press on a wide range of topics, including significant government policies and official activities.
