President of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid testes positive for COVID-19.
Making the announcement via Twitter, Shahid stated that he was experiencing mild symptoms and was isolating at home.
I have tested positive for COVID19 today. I am isolating at home with mild symptoms. I was privileged to have been fully vaccinated including a booster. My prayers are with the millions suffering from Covid and the billions without access to vaccine! I Stand for #VaccineEquity

Additionally, the UNGA President revealed that he had completed both doses of the vaccination along with the booster dose. He further took the opportunity to stress the importance of vaccination, and send prayers for those suffering from COVID-19 without any access to vaccination.
Shahid is currently based in New York since his election as the UNGA President.
