Nasheed’s daughter has said that he would not leave to U.K.

The daughter of the former President Mohamed Nasheed currently serving a 13-year prison sentence after being convicted of terrorism, has said that he would not be travelling to the United Kingdom for medical purposes.
Former President’s daughter, Mira Laila Nasheed has said on social media that President Nasheed’s medical visit to the U.K has been authorized by the government after appointing a person in the Maldives that would be responsible for him.
Information Officer of the Maldives Correctional Service, Moosa Rameez said that the former President has to sign an declaration to leave the country as it is with anyone that is incarcerated.
“…it is not an agreement especially for President Nasheed only. It is regulation for everyone. A person that would clarify information while abroad, as in going with a person and a person here that would be giving news from abroad has to be here.” Rameez said.
He said that the responsibility of the person in the country signed as responsible is to communicate with the Home Ministry as to not lose track of the person.
