Four more suspects have been arrested for forcing two minors into prostitution in Fuvahmulah.
This brings the total number of suspects in police custody in relation to this case, to 20.
Police said that the four people arrested yesterday are a 24-year-old woman, and men aged 18, 21, and 28.
Investigations are ongoing against several people in Fuvahmulah as well as other islands.
At a recent press conference regarding this case, Head of Criminal Investigation Command, Chief Superintendent of Police, Hamdhoon Rasheed, denied rumours that one of the two girls was pregnant.
Sources have told Sun Online that the prostitution ring was led by a group of businessmen. The girls had been forced to work for over a month at a guesthouse on Miskiy Magu in Fuvahmulah.
