Police have sent the cases of the President of Adhaalath Party, Sheikh Imran, the MDP Chairperson, Ali Waheed, Deputy Leader of Jumhooree Party Ameen Ibrahim and the Foreign and Public Relations of Jumhooree Party, Sobah Raheed to the Prosecutor General’ (PG) Office.
The Media Official of the PG’s Office, Ahmed Hishan Wajeeh told Sun Media that the Police sent the cases today. And the cases have entered the research phase.
Those four people were arrested for encouraging conflict and confrontation to the protestors in their speech at the rally.
During questioning, Ali Waheed, Ameen and Sobah exercised their constitutional right to remain silent. The President of Adhaalath Party, Sheikh Imran gave his statement to the Police.
Only Ameen Ibrahim was released while the others remain in Police custody. The release of Ameen was ordered by the High Court. The state has appealed the release of Ameen by the High Court at the Supreme Court.
