China donates 3,000 streetlights to Male’ City Council

The Chinese Government has donated 3,000 street lights to Male’ City Council.
A special ceremony was held at the Male’ City Council on Monday, to hand over the items by the Chinese Embassy. Ambassador Wang Lixin handed over the items to Male’ City Council which were received by Male’ City Mayor, Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
Speaking during the ceremony, Muizzu highlighted the donation by the Chinese Government ensures the safety of Male’ City residents to be further solidified.
He further added that with the donation, the council will also be able to replace a lot of older street lights with modern LED lights.
During his speech, Muizz also thanked the Chinese government for its assistance in the development of the city. He recognized China as a key developmental partner, who had provided assistance through unwavering respect and equality to the Maldives.
Highlighting the strong ties between China and Maldives, Muizz also thanked the Chinese Embassy for its continued support.
