Veteran educator Ainth Miss passes away

Veteran educator Aminath Hassan (Ainth Miss) has passed away on Thursday.
Sun has learned that Ainth passed away following a battle with cancer.
Ainth, who had worked in the education field for over 30 years, is a Dhivehi language teacher. She worked the longest in Aminiyya School.
Ainth is a graduate from the first batch of students who completed their degree in Dhivehi language.
In 2018, Ainth was appointed a member of the Asset Recovery Commission formed by former president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. She also served as a member of the Maldives Media Council in 2014.
She also contested in the last parliamentary election as an independent candidate for Central Maafannu constituency.
Ainth played a crucial role in the formation of a teachers' association in the Maldives and in the protests held by teachers in 2008, demanding better salaries and working conditions.
