Several motorcycles parked near Addu City’s Hithadhoo district’s Flat 11 area has burned down beyond use in a fire.
Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said the fire was reported to the authority’s Southern Area Command at approximately 4:10am early Tuesday morning.
MNDF detailed that firefighters from the Hithadhoo Fire Station responded to the report and managed to bring the fire under control by around 4:25am. Two motorcycles completely burned down beyond use in the fire.

Photos of the incident shared by the MNDF show the motorcycles burnt to ashes. The blaze also damaged several plants located near the parked motorcycles.
MNDF has not disclosed the cause of the fire.
Vehicle fires involving motorcycles and cars have occurred before, with some cases believed to be arson-related.
