Hiyala has reacged the final of HZJ Volleyball Tournament 2023 organized by Hanimaadhoo Zuvaanunge Jamiyya (HZJ) by winning all the matches they played at the tournament.
In the first match of match day five, Rooh won the match against Barefoot 3 sets to 2 sets. Rooh took the set to 23/25, 25/22, 17/25, 25/20, 15/11. Aminath Ahmed of Rooh was selected as the best player of the Match.
In the second match of day five, Hiyala won the match against Ummeedhu with 3 sets to 1 set. Hiyala won the sets 25/18, 25/19, 22/25, 25/16. Aminath Aroosha of Hiyala was selected as the best player of the Match.
With today’s matches group stage matches of the tournament has been completed, Hiyala toping the group and reaching the final. Moreover, a semifinal will be played today between the second placed Ummeedhu, and third place Rare Squad. Winner of the match will go through to the final and will play against Hiyala. The final match is scheduled to be played at 1610hrs of March19.
A total of five teams participated in the tournament. They are Hiyala, Barefoot, Rooh, Ummeedh and Reyru Squad.
The objectives of organizing the tournament are to inculcate and revive the spirit of the sports among the women of Hanimaadhoo, to enhance their volleyball skills, to improve unity among people, and allow them to play volleyball in a competitive environment.
Hanimaadhoo Zuvaanunge Jamiyya, which was registered in 1993, has been working for the development of the island since they were established. Moreover, they have won the National Award in 2016. This is the 30th consecutive year that the organization has been running unabated.
