High Court dismisses Nasheed

The High Court has dismissed the case appealed by Nasheed regarding the order to the police by Hulhumale’ Magistrate Court to arrest him in order to bring him before court.
High Court Media Official Ameen Faisal said that the case was dismissed following failure by Nasheed to be present in court today without providing a reason for his absence.
The High Court had sent the summon chit for Nasheed to attend court today for the hearing of the case appealed by him. Nasheed however remains in the Indian High Commission.
Hulhumale’ Magistrate Court ordered the police to arrest Nasheed in order to take him to court for the trial against him regarding the unconstitutional arrest of Chief Judge of Criminal Court Abdullah Mohamed, while Nasheed acted as chief of military.
Hulhumale’ Court has issued a second order to the police to bring Nasheed before court at 4:00 pm today. This order was also appealed by Nasheed’s team today, but rejected by the High Court.
