The state has appealed the release of arsonist of Kendhoo vessels at the High Court.
The suspect arrest on the case Abdul Salaam Yoosuf، 41، Morning House، was released on Thursday.
PG official informed that the suspect release case has been appealed at High Court.
 
Abdul Salaam was arrested a night after two vessels and a speed boat docked at Kendhoo caught fire vigorously.
The estimated damage of the vessels are around MVR 4.3 million، the owners of the vessels said.
A Police Media Official stated that Salaam was released from remand when he was summoned to Kendhoo Magistrate court to decide regarding his remand further. Court had ruled the necessity for Salaam’s remand is no longer present.
“We are still investigating the matter even though he [Salaam] has been released” Police Media Official stated.
