Military detention of Judge Abdulla was wrong- Nasheed

Former President Mohamed Nasheed has stated that the military detention of the Criminal Court Chief Judge Abdulla Mohamed during his presidency was wrong.
Nasheed made this remark following his return from the meeting of IDU leaders of the political parties.
Nasheed said that some state officials of his government, including the minister of defence then was responsible for the arrest of Judge Abdulla. He said that it was them who considered Abdulla Mohamed’s verdict as a threat to national security.
“As you must know, some state officials, especially the minister of defense considered Abdulla Mohamed’s verdict as a threat to national security. I believe it was wrong,” he said.
Nasheed said that the judge Abdulla is a wise person and evaluates matters properly. He said that it is not wise to be hasty to act against his decisions.
Meanwhile, despite this a Nasheed has been denying responsibility for the illegal arrest of Judge Abdulla Mohamed. When summoned to the Human Rights Commission in relation to the case, Nasheed told the commission that he did not arrest the judge.
