High Court has informed the legal team of the former President Mohamed Nasheed that the case against him at the court cannot be delayed as requested.
An official of the High Court stated that the court has informed Nasheed’s legal team that they cannot post pone the case as requested by the egal tream of former President Nasheed.
Member of Nasheed's legal team, and former Youth Minnister, Hassan Latheef had requested to postpone the hearing by one and a half months.
While Nasheed's legal team had requested to postpone the hearing, it has been scheduled for coming Wednesday.
The letter requesting for the postponation said that since a lot of time had passed after they had lodged the case noting that the judicial system of the country has seen much changes after it. It explained the reason behind the request as wanting more time to do some research regarding the case.
