Two individuals were arrested Monday night in Gan in Laamu Atoll for aggravated assault.
According to the local police, a 28-year-old man and a 29-year-old man were arrested under a court warrant for attacking another individual.
The two men had assaulted a 21-year-old male. He was attacked in the face, ribs and the back with a sharp object.
The man is currently being treated at Gan Regional Hospital. His condition is not that serious, the hospital had said,
Reportedly, the 21-year-old man was attacked by three men while he was at the island’s futsal ground.
