President Dr Mohamed Muizzu departed on an official eight-day visit to the inhabited islands of Vaavu, Meemu, Faafu, and Thaa Atolls this afternoon. Over the course of the trip, he will visit all inhabited islands in these four atolls, covering a total of 31 islands.
During the visit, the President will meet Island Councils and Women’s Development Committees to discuss development priorities and the needs of local communities. He will also engage directly with residents to hear their concerns and enquire about their well-being.
The trip includes visits to five inhabited islands of Vaavu Atoll: Fulidhoo, Thinadhoo, Felidhoo, Keyodhoo, and Rakeedhoo. In Faafu Atoll, the President will travel to Feeali, Bileiydhoo, Magoodhoo, Dharan’boodhoo, and Nilandhoo. His visit to Meemu Atoll will cover Dhiggaru, Maduvvari, Raiymandhoo, Veyvah, Mulah, Kolhufushi, Naalaafushi, and Muli. In Thaa Atoll, he will visit 13 inhabited islands, including Buruni, Vilufushi, Madifushi, Dhiyamigili, Guraidhoo, Kan’doodhoo, Vandhoo, Hirilandhoo, Gaadhiffushi, Thimarafushi, Veymandoo, Kin’bidhoo, and Omadhoo.
This trip is part of the President’s initiative to tour all Maldivian atolls and engage directly with councils at the island, atoll, and city levels.
The President is accompanied by Cabinet Ministers and senior officials from key Government institutions.
