A collision between a motorbike and van on Sinamale’ Bridge highaway on Tuesday has seriously injured a six-year-old child.
A message shared by the Maldives Police Service stated that a motorbike and a van, that had exited from Hulhule’ near the seaplane terminal area on to the highway, were involved in the collision.
Police received report of the accident around 17:53hrs on Tuesday late afternoon.
The rider of the motorbike and a six-year-old girl on the passenger seat of the bike had sustained injuries. While the minor was rushed to Tree Top Hospital for medical treatment, the rider was taken to Hulhumale’ Hospital for medical attention.
Although it was confirmed both individuals on the bike sustained injuries, details of these were not provided.
A witness who spoke with Sun Online said the child was thrown into the air and landed far from the bike upon impact. Reports also claim of blood from the victims on the highway at the accident site.
Police confirmed it was investigation the accident.
