The Government of Maldives has welcomed the announcement of a temporary ceasefire agreement between the Iran and the United States, expressing hope that the development will ease tensions in the region.
In an official statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Maldivian government said it viewed the ceasefire as a positive step towards de-escalating hostilities, adding that it could provide a crucial opportunity for dialogue and diplomacy to take precedence in resolving differences.
