Maldives has participated in Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival, one of the biggest regional trade festivals held in Middle East.
The event is held from 31 January – 1 February in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The Maldives’ delegation is led by a team from the Business Center Corporation (BCC).
Through BCC, three prominent local businesses in the field of technology are participating in the event. These are Pi Networks, Javaabu and Eazeapp. The purpose of this event is to showcase Maldives’ innovative products and to build strategic networks, BCC said.
BCC also stressed that it aims to increase opportunities for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in international markets, and participation in this festival would work towards furthering that goal. BCC hopes that through the many exhibitions and networking sessions carried forth through the festivals, Maldivian businesses would be able to capture strategic collaborations and investments.
The Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival is noted to be one of the most prominent initiatives in Middle East where start-ups and innovations are showcased and where for strengthening international partnerships. The event is attended by investors, policy makers as well as entrepreneurs.
BCC’s participation in the festival is part of its broader strategy to promote businesses and strengthen the private sector in the Maldives.
