Maldives donates 1 million tuna cans to China

The government of Maldives has donated 1 million canned tuna to China.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih made the decision as a gesture of goodwill extended towards the people of China by the people of Maldives amidst the rapid escalation and the spread of Novel Coronavirus in China.
Speaking at the press conference held to announce the decision of the Maldivian government, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid acknowledged China has provided various assistance to Maldives. The minister said Maldives believes it is important to provide every assistance possible in this time of national distress to China.
The foreign minister further assured Maldives will continue to support China in its efforts to curb the novel coronavirus outbreak.
