Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) on Monday said they have 65،000 members in the party.
Speaking in a press briefing held at Nasandhura Palace Hotel during the celebration of 3rd Year Anniversary of PPM، Vice President of the Party and Fonadhoo Constituency member of the Parliament، Abdulla Abdul Raheem said with the new membership forms received، PPM has now reached 65،000 members in total.
“Elections Commission report says there are 32،000 members registered in the Party. With the membership forms we have، the party will reach 65،000 members.” he said.
He said PPM is currently the party with most ‘correct’ number of membership، and also the most famous and progressing party in Maldives.
He also highlighted the achievements of the party within the past three years – winning 95% of the Elections held in Maldives in that period، and also، in control of the executive and legislative power.
“Even if we look at political parties in other countries، we see no party as PPM، which have obtained this many achievements in just three years.” he said.
Abdul Raheem said the success of the party is driven by the dedication of their members and immense respect they have towards the leader of the party، Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom، and also the services and guidance provided by the President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
