"Pick-up driver sped off after hitting officers under order" – Superintendent of Police

Police Superintendent Abdullah Nawaz speaks regarding the speeding pick-up case during today’s Mayday protest and highlights on the confrontations by protest participants.
While giving an interview to the press، Nawaz stated “Pick-up had hit the police line and sped off in front of the journalists present at the scene، the pick-up had gas when it was taken under police custody and when the pick up driver was questioned، he admitted he had acted under the order of the protest leaders for money.”

Nawaz had also stated that protesters had called out to confront the police officers present at the protest zones، and the opposition supporters had proceeded to attack the officers with bricks and stones. Some of the officers present during the confrontation had sustained injuries as well.
In addition، Nawaz said “No more protests will be carried by them for the night، we are currently investigating to evaluate those responsible for the violent protest of today and we will arrest those who needs to be arrested.”
Police officers and security forces will now be active at protest zones with “zero tolerance.”
