Minister of External Affairs of India, Ms Sushma Swaraj departed Maldives this afternoon after concluding her official visit to the Maldives from 10 to 11 October on the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Ms Dunya Maumoon.
During the visit, Minister of External Affairs called on H.E Mr. Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, President of the Republic of Maldives and H.E. Ms. Dunya Maumoon, Minister of Foreign Affairs. Minister of External Affairs also lead the Indian delegation at the 5th Session of Maldives-IndiaJoint Commission, which was held at Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 11 October 2015.
Foreign Minister Dunya hosted a dinner at Kurumba Maldives in honour of the Minister of External Affairs and her delegation. The visit provided the opportunity for both sides to engage in fruitful discussions on the broad scope of cooperation and paved the way to further enhance bilateral ties between Maldives and India. Minister of External Affairs was seen off at the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Ms. Dunya Maumoon.
