International community is concerned with the constitutional breaches of Maldivian govt- Shahid

Henveiru Hulhungu constituency MP, Abdulla Shahid has said that the international community has been raising concern regarding the breaches of the constitution by the government of Maldives.
Shahid who is currently abroad made this remark in an interview to VTV. He said that the international community has been questioning him why the government is obstructing political activities.
He said that they are also questioning why the government is pressing charges against political leaders and confiscating assets of the Jumhooree Party leader, Gasim Ibrahim.
“Some have also raised questions regarding the detention of former Defence Minister. I am currently clarifying all of these questions for them,” he said.
Shahid said that MDP is active in India’s New Delhi and the United Kingdom. He said that they are dissipating information regarding the current political situation in Maldives.
He said that this includes the issue of the removal of the Supreme Court Chief Justice, the Auditor General and also regarding the failure to act on the decentralization law.
