A Spring Festival Reception Celebrating the Chinese New Year of Goat has been held at Dharubaaruge last night.
Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon speaking at the ceremony held by the Chinese Embassy stated that Maldives and China shares a very strong and friendly relations between the two countries.
Dunya said that the relationship and cooperation between the two countries will expand and grow with every passing year.
Minister Dunya said that China has been helping Maldives publicly and privately. She said that the development brought by China is apparent in many of the projects related to construction.
Minister Dunya thanked China for its assistance and cooperation in different sectors.
During the speech, Minister remarked at the value attached by the Government of Maldives in respect of the bilateral ties that exist between the two countries, and highlighted the attributes of shared values, and mutual respect, that underlie the close relations.
Minister Dunya expressed confidence that both Governments would engage in strengthening the relations between the two counties and in promoting economic cooperation.
