Ex-President Nasheed extends anniversary wishes to RaajjeTV

Former President Mohamed Nasheed has extended anniversary wishes to privately-run television station RaajjeTV.
Nasheed extended his greetings via twitter on Saturday.
His tweet, typed out in Dhivehi, translates to “congratulations to all the staff of RaajjeTV on the commemoration of the station’s 8th anniversary”.
Since its establishment in 2010, RaajjeTV has been applauded by many, and been subject to various sorts of harassment and threats. As such, the famed station has been slapped with numerous fines by the Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC) over the years and its journalists have also been subject to oppression and assault. It is notable that the arson attack on the station in October 2013 still remains one of the major, irrecoverable losses to the station. However, the station has risen above the oppression and is famed for its invincible courage.
The station marks its anniversary on the 15th of December, annually.
Incumbent President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had also extended the day’s greetings via twitter to the management and staff.
