Maldives government on Thursday, 09 July 2020, confirms the termination of Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed from his held designation.
Earlier, Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih made the formal request from the cabinet minister to resign from his responsibilities.
However, on Thursday the official spokesperson of President’s Office gave the confirmation of the minister’s termination.
In his absence, the void of Ministry of Tourism has gone to incumbent Minister of Economic Development Al-Ustad Fayyaz Ismail, temporarily.
Furthermore, on Wednesday evening revelations by state officials on Twitter confirmed the now ex-minister faces multiple sexual harassment allegations.
Moreover, several female employees made lodgings of their complaints at Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Additionally, the embittered minister faces allegations of sexually harassing female co-workers amid total lockdown in Greater Male’ Region.
Earlier in 2020, a yet anonymous Twitter handle made release of a series of audio clips that seemingly bore the ex-minister’s voice.
The series of audio clips seemingly incriminated the ex-minister for gross verbal and sexual harassment, which he however denies.
