Maldives International Education and Wellness Expo Kicks Off

The Maldives International Education and Wellness Expo has kicked off, offering more than 200 opportunities in the fields of higher education, training and wellness.
The event was inaugurated by the Minister of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development, Dr Ali Haidar Ahmed.
Speaking at the expo’s opening ceremony, Minister Dr Haidar highlighted that a significant number of Maldivian students are pursuing higher education at international universities. The Minister stressed the importance of ensuring the quality of foreign educational institutions, and noted that the Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA) has established regulations to assess and verify such institutions.
The expo is the first such international education and wellness expo organised by the Maldives Exhibition and Conference Services (MECS). The expo features over 40 participants, including local and international education and wellness providers. The expo offers more than 100 courses including opportunities at all levels in fields such as Business, Accounting, Information Technology, Hospitality, Medicine, Nursing, Bio Medical Science, Game Development, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Electric, Aviation, Architecture, Fashion, and Interior Design.
The expo’s participants include local universities and colleges as well as prominent universities and higher education providers from Australia, UK, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India and the Philippines.
The expo will be open from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Central Park in Hulhumale until 15 June.
