President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, has expressed his willingness to work closely with Nepal’s new administration, as he congratulated Balendra Shah on his inauguration as Prime Minister.
In a letter sent on behalf of the Maldivian government and its people, President Dr Muizzu conveyed his warm congratulations to Balendra Shah following his assumption of office.
He noted the strong participation of young people and widespread calls for reform in the lead-up to Nepal’s recent general election, describing the process as a “significant turning point” in the country’s democratic development.
According to the President, the outcome signals the beginning of a new period of stability and progress in line with the aspirations of the Nepalese people.
President Muizzu also reaffirmed Nepal’s importance as a bilateral partner, highlighting shared priorities and common approaches to regional challenges faced by South Asian nations. He said he looked forward to strengthening cooperation and deepening ties between the two countries, both regionally and in international forums.
He concluded by wishing Prime Minister Shah good health and success in his new role, as well as continued peace, progress and prosperity for the people of Nepal.
