Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced on increasing limits on credit cards for foreign transactions, effective from 17 October.
Moreover, the bank confirms that the limit is increased to USD750 on America Express (Green/Gold), Visa (Classic/Gold) and Mastercard (Standard/Gold) cards issued out by BML.
Furthermore, the existing limit of USD250 will continue to remain effective for all debit cards used locally; that are linked to MVR accounts.
Customers living abroad will have the continued limitation of USD750 per month per debit card and customers with other credit cards that are not aforementioned will have increased limits based on card types.
BML confirms to communicate these changes to their customers within the week.
Meanwhile, customers with BML debit cards linked to US Dollar accounts will be able o use up to to the daily limit of USD3,000.
The bank will continue to support all medical and education payments through cards with temporary changes to the limits. Customers can submit all supporting documents via Internet Banking when making payments for either of these purposes.
