Ex-President Mohamed Nasheed has said that if he is imprisoned, he will bring down President Waheed’s government as easily as “removing a candy wrapper.”
Speaking at a MDP rally held in HaaAlif Hoarafushi last night, Nasheed said that the current government came to power after staging a coup and that it will require very little effort to bring it down.
“If they imprison me, I will overthrow the government even more easily. I’ll do it as easily as removing a candy wrapper,” said President Nasheed.
Nasheed also talked about the issue of reclaiming the airport from GMR saying that the whole issue unfolded in a very ugly manner and that poking one of the biggest world powers will have terrible consequences and that the current government’s actions will come back to haunt them.
