Will form an interim govt. after successful protests: Ali Zahir

Adhaalath Party Deputy Leader Ali Zahir has pledged to continue protests in spite of Police actions to stop them, stating that the opposition will form an interim government.
Speaking to press today, Ali Zahir said that opposition activities will not be just held in the Haruge, but other areas as well. He said they will fully use the powers granted in the Constitution and will hold protests and gatherings in other areas.
Both Ali Zahir and Hisaan Hussain stressed that Police can enter an area without a court warrant if there was an immediate danger to persons or property due to the protests. However, they said that there was no such reason that warranted entry into Haruge. They said therefore the officers who had entered and had given the command to enter had contravened the law and will file the case for review.
Zahir said the officers who had entered had no tags or identifying ranks. He added that this was done as they were fully aware that they were committing an offence.
It has been reported to Miadhu that citizens in the area had reported extremely high levels of noise, pleading to the Police to control the noise in the area. Others have questioned whether it was necessary to obtain court orders to enter Haruge, as it was not a residence. Court orders are applicable to residences.
Police media official today said that if any activity impacts public they will take action on it.
