Minister of Foreign Affairs Dunya Maumoon has met with Mr. Jean-Marin Schuh، the new Ambassador of France to the Republic of Maldives.
At the meeting held at the Foreign Ministry this morning، the Foreign Minister welcomed the Ambassador and congratulated him on his appointment.
Foreign Minister Dunya also noted the close bilateral relations between the Maldives and France، and discussed ways of further strengthening the existing ties between the two countries، especially in the area of climate change.
The Ambassador assured his commitment to working with the Government in strengthening the relations between the two countries and increasing cooperation between the two countries in various areas for mutual benefit.
Foreign Minister Dunya was accompanied by Ms. Fathimath Inaya، Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Hussain Jahhaz، Senior Desk Officer of the Foreign Ministry of the Maldives.
Ambassador Jean-Marin presented his credentials to the President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom this morning، prior to meeting with Minister Dunya Maumoon.
