The Hanimaadhoo Council in Haa Dhaalu Atoll has decided to distribute 150 bags of sand to every household on the island.
The Hanimaadhoo Council decided to provide sand to every household from the stockpile located in the Hanimaadhoo harbor area.
The Hanimaadhoo Council stated that the sand will be distributed to those who bring cement or gravel bags, or bags of a similar size.
“We would like to inform you that each household must collect the 150 bags of sand all at once,” the Hanimaadhoo Council stated.
This sand stockpile is located south of Boduthakurufaanu Magu (Road) and west of the Hanimaadhoo Magistrate Court.
The Hanimaadhoo Council began distributing the sand starting from December 14, 2025. The designated time for sand distribution is from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
