Maldives has been crowned the ‘Leading Adventure Destination’ at the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2025.
The ninth edition of SATA, South Asia’s region’s most prestigious platform celebrating excellence in travel, tourism, and hospitality, was held with a spectacular Grand Gala Cinnamon Grand Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The year’s gala brought together distinguished guests, eminent tourism authorities, esteemed partners, and industry leaders from across the South Asian region, where 53 gold and 113 silver award winners from the very best of Sri Lanka, India, Maldives, Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh were honored across diverse categories.
Out of this, Maldives snatched 16 gold awards and 19 silver awards.

Maldives was also crowned the ‘Leading Adventure Destination’ in the Visitors’ Choice Awards segment, which reflects the voice of global traveler and was among the most anticipated recognitions of the evening.
