President Yameen Abdul Gayyoom have said that it will not be possible to attain development desired by the youth if we are fearful of being in debt. He said that the government is conducting various development projects, because the government does not fear debt.
Speaking to the people of Dhiggaru this morning the President said that Maldives is in need of development in all areas and even if some people are scared of taking loans, the country cannot be developed without taking loans.
He said that the people does not desire minor things and they are in need of mega projects like airports. He said that to conduct these projects in the speed desired by the people, a lot of money is needed.
“Even this year the work of 4-5 airports will begin. What we are doing is developing all areas of country. We cannot stop it” said the President.
He said that he will not initiate “attacks” against anyone but if anyone wants to disrupt the development of the country, he will take necessary actions.
