In association with the Swimming Association of Maldives, BML launched the program “Fethun Tharin” which translates to “Swimming Stars” that teaches persons with special needs how to swim, on Saturday.
The bank’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Shareef revealed that the program will be carried out until applicants learn how to swim and that application forms will be available through the swimming association.
Shareef further said that swimming is an important life skill as we are surrounded by the ocean.
BML added that lessons will be carried out by qualified instructors and experts from the association.
RaajjeMV understands that a location has not yet been allocated for the program.
While this program is among the many programs conducted by the national bank to provide more opportunities for persons with special needs, the bank has gifted some equipment needed for the training.
