Many locals have been calling not to revile the honour of the great companion of the Prophet, and Commander Khalid bin Waleed.
They note that Khalid bin Waleed is known as Sword of Allah (Saifullah). He is noted for his military prowess, commanding the forces of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and those of his immediate successors of the Rashidun Caliphate; Caliph Abu Bakr and Caliph Umar during the Islamic conquest in 7th century.
They say that it is a revilement of the honour of this noble companion when people such as the Tourism Minister Ahmed Adheeb is compared to him.
Former State Minister, Sheikh Mohamed Didi said that President Yameen compared Minister Adheeb to Khalid bin Waleed.
He said that Adheeb is a person drenched in corruption and there is no way he can be compared to a noble and virtuous companion of the Prophet Mohamed.
