Health Minister Irthisham Adam has called on all to take part in organized blood drives and donate blood as much as possible.
She made the statement speaking in the opening ceremony of the blood drive organized by MTCC and Maldives Blood Donor’s Association yesterday morning.
Minister noted the long wait for blood donation and congratulated the two organizations for the drive, which has targeted for 300 people. She added that the Government places extreme importance on proper blood storage and was working to ensure such measures, especially in the health centers and atoll hospitals.
She also appealed to Maldives Blood Services to carry out such drives in various islands, citing that the team was highly mobile.
Minister Irthisham also thanked ADK and IGMH for their participation and assistance in the project.
