Former Youth Minister، Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal has requested for the details of the remarks made by His Excellency President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom while addressing the nation yesterday.
A tweet made by Maleeh yesterday says، “If President Yameen said anything about me today، I request him to brief the citizens on the details of it”.
President said yesterday that Maleeh is the only minister to be dismissed from cabinet and that he was dismissed for influencing an ongoing investigation.
“Maleeh interfered too much in a case being investigated by the government back then and tried to investigate the case on his own terms. Or for intervening with those who were doing it. That was also handed over to Minister Ameen”، said the President while addressing the nation yesterday.
President also said that Maleeh acted in an inappropriate way for a person in his position regarding this case.
Maleeh was dismissed from his position at such a time when rumours were circulating about Dr. Jameel conspiring in collaboration with opposition parties، noted the President.
